If you are looking for a particular kind of material (images, audio, data), there are a few places you can start. Below you will find a list of repositories that specialize in particular material types. Many general repositories also have search filters that allow you to limit by material type.
Note: Review the license on each OER before choosing is, since many sites have mixed-licensing.
- Types of OER (and where to find them). This chapter from BCcampus’ Open Education Faculty OER Toolkit provides a list of places to search if you’re looking for open educational resources of a certain material type.
- Directory of Open Access Journals. Information on Open Access publishing, as well as a directory of nearly 10,000 Open Access, full-text, and often peer-reviewed scholarly journals. These journals are freely available online, and typically allow authors to retain the copyright to their work.
